Operating System

An operating system, commonly known as OS is an intricate and common computer piece in the world today. Operating system helps in organizing information within a computer's hardware. It is a set of programs basically and acts as the intermediary between computer user and hardware. Mainframe operating systems are designed primarily to optimize utilization of hardware. The personal computer(PC) operating systems support complex games, business applications and everything in between. An operating system is designed according to its user. Previously, Samsung used to have a very easy interface for mobile that even old age generation can use it. Some interfaces are designed to be convenient, and some to be efficient and some a=are combination fo both.
Typically speaking, user's view of computer varies according to the interface being used. Most computer users sit in front of PC. In this case, the goal is to maximize the work that the user is performing and an operating system is designed mostly for ease of use, with none attention paid to resource utilization. All in all, systems are optimized for single user experience rather than requirements of multiple users. In another case, a user sits at the terminal connected at the mainframe or minicomputer. Other users are accessing the same computer through other terminals. An operating system is designed to maximize the resource utilization and to ensure that no individual user takes more than her fair share. And, in rest of the cases, user sits at workstations connected to networks of other workstations and servers. Their operating system is designed to compromise between individual usability and resource utilization.
With the fast pace of technology, users demand also increasing. Now, they want a more handlier  operating system. Increasingly, mobile devices are replacing desktop and laptop computers for people who are least interested in using computers or don't know how to use computers. The user interface for mobile computers generally features a touch screen, where the user interacts with the system by pressing and swapping fingers across the screen rather than using a physical keyboard and mouse.
Some computers programs have little or no user view but moral of the story is, without the invention of the operating system, computers would not have nearly the amount of power, diversity, and applicability they do today.
